Footballs best pre match meal for fans.

The next time you’re able to go to the football, if you don’t go for this pre match combination you’re doing it wrong.

There’s little like being on the concourse pre match, the buzz of anticipation, the songs, the queues for the disgusting toilets, the only thing that can make it better is a chicken balti pie and bovril, something to warm the cockles and keep you going until half time.

A little spice, a flaky top and moist bottom make for the perfect pie, hopefully with the brand Pukka somewhere on it too, if that wasn’t good enough then the hot gravy like drink that accompanies it will make sure you’re more than satisfied come kick off.

You can stick your warm pint and burger or sausage roll and a cup of tea, people take hampers to cricket, with champagne and caviar, I’m sure you get something posh with your beer at the rugby, nothing though beats a chicken balti pie and bovril, you can argue all you want with me, you’re wrong.

To be honest the burger that’s been sitting about for 3 hours in a van on the way out of the ground after a win is also high up on my list of football foods. A half time Mars bar is also great, to make you feel like an athlete. And the petrol station McDonald’s or Burger King on the long drive home listening to post match analysts is also elite.

But if you want the real winner of pre match meals, you can’t go wrong with a chicken balti pie and cup of bovril, try it if you’ve never had one, the next time you’re in a ground you’ll not be disappointed.

Cheers, The Fat Man
