Sports news/baseball review.

To be honest, for a man who spends his days trawling social media to find stuff to write about, the last few days have been a bit grim.

No huge controversy, no big stories, nothing about footballers transitioning to the fairer sex, not a lot to go on.

Apparently Kepa and Antonio Rudiger had a scrap in Chelsea training, but it seems all the jokes about Kepa being useless with his hands have already been made, so not much to go off there, a pundit from ESPN was on Instagram live with a load of strippers and got the sack, scraping the barrel.

A racist fuck from a verified Twitter account said that if Moeen Ali didn’t have cricket he’d have gone to Syria and joined ISIS, she tried to defend herself by saying it was taken out of context, sorry love but in what other context could that have been taken.

As most of you know I love the NFL but there’s not been much going on there either, the Kansas City Chiefs are trying to make more jersey numbers available to more position groups, and when that’s the lead you know you’re struggling.

To tie in with my love of the NFL I thought I’d give another one of America’s pastimes a go, maybe with my affection for cricket I’d enjoy baseball. I did not enjoy baseball, people think cricket is boring and slow, give this shit a go, slow, boring, oh and if you do eventually hit the ball, it doesn’t always count, it was nice to see crowds at sporting events too, with the Texas Rangers hosting a capacity crowd of 40.000.

So I can cross baseball off the list, professional rounders isn’t the one for me, I watched the Yankees play on opening day and there were 5 runs or points or whatever the fuck their scoring system is, who knows. I think the NFL is going to have to stay my one stop shop for American sports.

At least this evening there are two good Champions League games on to help pass the time, Real Madrid hosting Liverpool and Manchester City playing Dortmund, so I guess it could be worse.

There will however be loads to write about over the next few days I reckon, either that or I’ll start a rumour up myself and try to get that circulating, if anybody has any suggestions let me know.

The Masters is starting on Thursday, so everybody will become a golf expert for the weekend, and the Grand National, so everybody will be racing experts too. That being said I used to love National day, it’s all everybody would be talking about in work, anything on that National? I fancy this horse, and the inevitable texts that come from working next to a bookies, can you stick this on for me mate? Since gambling has become predominantly online it’s taken away some of the joy that Saturday in April used to give me.

Forgive me for a slightly bizarre article that didn’t say much about anything but for somebody who lives on if anything happens in sports then this is the kind of thing you’ll get from time to time!

Cheers, The Fat Man.
