What a day lads.

As Ice Cube said, today was a good day, that doesn’t mean I won a boat load on Day 1 of The Cheltenham Festival, quite the opposite, but the racing coupled with England thrashing India in the 3rd T20i, it’s was great to have high level sport on during the day, to help ease the boredom.

As I say I didn’t win a boat load but I thought of my dear old Grandad this afternoon, when I placed a £5 bet on a horse I knew nothing about ”dear oh pray, what do you want to go and waste that money on an old Donkey for” or something along those lines.

I imagined him sitting in his favourite spot on the sofa, his copy of the paper and bowl of sweets that only he could reach. Racing always makes me reminisce of him, so I had a nice warm feeling come over me while I did my equivalent by sitting in my favourite chair, looking through the betting apps and having a cuppa watching the horses while the sun shone.

England also gave India a battering despite Virat Kholi’s best efforts, a stunning 77 not out giving his side a fighting chance, but the brilliance of Jos Buttler saw England home without having to get out of second gear.

Just as Cheltenham came to an end for the day, so did the cricket, but there’s a load of football on tonight, and throughout the week too, which gives us more chance to lose our money on accumulators tonight, it’s a great week this one, all the sport you could want, you don’t have to talk to the Mrs or anything, what more could you want? Role on tomorrow!

Oh and while I’ve got your attention, listen to our podcast, it’s called The Gambling Corner, it’s fucking brilliant if I do say so myself.

Cheers, The Fat Man.
